Tell us about your latest/upcoming release. What inspired it? Is it part of a series?
The Gingerbread Tryst is second installment of my Erotic Enchantments series. This sweet tale is based loosely . . . very loosely on the classic children’s story The Gingerbread Man. This erotic verison will make you laugh and incredibly horny! I’ve always been fascinated with fairytales and this particular fairytale about a cookie coming to life was too delicious to pass up as an author.

Tell us five random things about yourself.
I love to bake sweets.
I’m shy.
I’m constantly plotting new stories for the characters in my head.
I’m sensitive.
I over anaylze everything . . . like these questions in this interview.

What type of writer are you—the one who experiences before writing, like Hemingway, or the one who mostly daydreams and fantasizes?
Uh . . . a little of both. Many of my stories are based on fantasies that turn me on. Some experiences have helped to shape story ideas.

From the moment you conceived the idea for the story, to the published book, how long did it take?
Hmmm….A little over two months.

When it comes to writing, are you an early bird, or a night owl?
Definitely a night owl. I do my best work between 10-1 a.m.

What book are you reading now? Anything good to shout about?
The Sweet Spot by Kimberly Kay Terry!

Have you ever woken in the night with the need to write? If so, how do you deal with this urge?

Dreams have helped me a great deal with story ideas. I try to keep a notepad close to the bed so I can quickly pen ideas down.

Where do you find ideas for stories?

Music, dreams, daydreams, folklore, fantasies, and food!

Where can we find you on the internet?

http://www.simplysexystories.blogspot.com

http://www.nichellegregory.com

I’m on twitter and Facebook too!

If you could meet one character for the day, who would it be, what would you do and why?

Ayre, my hero from The Enchanted Flute! He’s sexy, musical and an extremely capable lover!

Adult Excerpt of The Gingerbread Tryst:

Marisa wondered what harm could come from wishing the cookie was a man . . . a real flesh and blood insatiable man. He would be just like the mischievous cookie in the classic fairytale from her childhood except he’d chase after her and . . . .

Pound my pussy until I can’t take it anymore. Marisa laughed out loud at her dirty thoughts.

She stared at the fragrant brown dough in front of her again, taking in a deep breath. What was she waiting for? The spell couldn’t possibly work. Exhaling, she quickly spoke the words of the wish spell before she could change her mind.

For a few seconds, nothing happened. Marisa was just about to turn away when she noticed a twitch. The little gingerbread man had moved!

Screaming, she backed away from the island until her bottom hit the wood cabinets behind her. She watched the cookie dough flutter and shake as it rolled back into a ball, then it traveled to the edge of the island and fell onto the floor.

Breathing heavily, Marie stared in shock as a figure began to rise from behind the marble island. Her gingerbread man continued growing in height and thickness as she gripped the counter behind her, transfixed by the magical sight. She couldn’t take her eyes off the flesh and blood man now standing before her. He had sexy brown skin the color of molasses, soft black curls on the crown of his head, warm brown eyes and a full mouth turned up into the teasing smile she had designed. His muscles looked huge beneath the thin cotton blue shirt she had piped on just moments ago.

She watched him walk toward her with slow, unsteady steps. He came from around the island, moving more rapidly as he gained his balance. A gasped escaped from her lips as her gaze traveled down over his flat, muscular stomach to the enormous erect cock bobbing in front him. The taut flesh was so big and long that despite her disbelief and fear, Marisa’s pussy began to tingle.

“No, no, no! This isn’t happening!” She cried, moving away from her delectable fantasy turned flesh.

“Run, run, run as fast as you can, I’m going to catch you . . . I’m your gingerbread man!” He called after her as she raced around the island.

Her heart was pounding so hard she didn’t hear how fast he came up behind her. She let out a yelp when he caught her, lifting her up easily into his strong arms. With her head pressed against his smooth chest she could smell his fragrant skin, the tempting scents of cinnamon and ginger teasing her senses.

He placed her on top of the marble countertop, and Marisa shivered as her lace-clad bottom connected with the smooth cold surface. She stared up into his dark brown eyes, marveling at what was happening, somehow accepting the present situation as real.

CONTEST: One person will win a free copy of my holiday story, Devon Falls 1: Sticky Magic today. Comment to be entered.
******
The countdown has begun and the stores are packed with shoppers trying to get their last minute shoping done, even as the stores have less inventory to sell.

I am lucky to say I finished pretty much all my shopping now and just need ot get the goodies I am bringng to families houses Xmas eve and Christmas day ready. But if you are one of those who still need some gift ideas, then think about these suggestions:

1) E-gift certificates- Amazon and other stores has now offered e-gift cards to customers. Got that hard to buy for prelative or friend? Then grab an e-gift certificate and they can usse it for a variety of places. Heck you can even design one just for them. How cool is that?

2) Books and e-books. Books are a wonderful present to give as they can be enjoyed multiple times. I love giving books at Christmas, especially as I find out what many like to read and pick them up throughout the final months of the year- just have to make sure I don’t get the same one they already have.

3) Pamper gifts- I love getting and giving gift certificates to a spa or to havemy nails done. It is a relaxing thing for that busy woman in your life- be it mom, sister or significant other.

4) Bake something- Homemade cookies and candies are very popular right now as we all deal with the recession in some form. I know I gave the kids teachers a small box of cookies the kids helped make with me for a gift instead of buying them anything. It was gratefully received with smiles and hugs.

Those are just some of my ideas for that last minute shopping ideas. Do you have any ideas not mentioned here?

Tell us about your favorite character from your books?

This is my debut sweet romance release! So, I’d have to say I admire Carol from A Christmas for Carol for finding the strength to go on with her life while trying to figure out how to let love in again.

Tell us about your current/upcoming release.

I’ve always enjoyed watching the holiday classic, A Christmas Carol. I love the idea of someone from the other side coming to help a loved one on this side find their way to a better way of life. A Christmas for Carol is about a woman who has lost the love of her life. She’s closed off her heart and lost the joy of the season. When she finally meets someone she could love, Carol hestitates letting fears and insecurities get the best of her. What happens next is amazing! This is a soul-stirring holiday treat about forgiveness, second chances and love!

How would you describe your writing style?

My tagline is: Romance that touches your heart and each story I write is geared towards that goal, but I’m also hoping my characters inspire hope in the infinite possibilities of life and love. I enjoy writing love stories with a paranormal, supernatural or magical twist!

Tell us five things about you.

I’m dedicated to becoming a better writer with every story I create.

I always read before I go to bed.

I love books, chocolate and a good martini . . . sometimes all at once!

I’m originally from Mishawaka, Indiana! Try saying that three times really fast!

I sing, play the violin and make my own Christmas cookies!

What is on your bookcase/E-reader right now? What are some of your favorite authors?

Dean R. Koontz, Lara Adrian, Kimberly Kay Terry, Brenda Jackson, Lora Leigh, Linda Howard, Nancy Madore and many more!

What do you have coming in 2010? Any sneak peeks we can look at?

Hopefully, a call confirming my YA novel has been picked up! I’m currently working on another sweet romance for Valentine’s Day! Sneak peeks coming soon!

Where can readers find you on the web?

http://www.angelanichelle.com

http://www.angelabradley.blogspot.com

If we talked to your muse, what would they say about you?

Hmmm . . . maybe that I do my best work around midnight or after!

If you were a superhero, what would your name be and would you wear tights and a cape? What super power would you have?

LoveLast! I’d have the power to make the love of any romantic relationship last forever!

You get to meet any fictional character. Who would it be and what would you do together?

I’d have to say Batman . . . the current one! lol. We’d go on a crime saving crusade throughout Gotham city and then end up back at the bat cave!

The holidays are here- What is your favorite cookie/candy to have this time of year?

I love baking shortbread cookies with raspberry filling!

Thanks for having me on Raine and Happy Holidays!

Excerpt:

Her heart hammered as she yanked off the red ribbon, and lifted the box top to reveal an exquisite gold chain with a delicate charm. The little coffee cup sparkled with tiny diamonds. “It’s beautiful!” Carol gasped. “I can’t believe you got me a gift. Thank you. I love it!” On impulse she leaned over to give him a quick kiss, but Grant pulled her in closer. He tasted like cinnamon as he deepened the kiss, brushing his lips slowly across hers. Pulling off her hat, he laced his fingers through her hair, holding her in place as he teased and tasted every inch of her mouth.

Carol whimpered, overwhelmed by her need for him. Desire ignited and raged through her body as he caressed her tongue in deliciously deliberate strokes. She raised her hand to touch his beard, loving the way the short hairs tickled her fingers. Her craving for him was undeniable. She wanted to let go and give herself over to the feelings rushing through her as he massaged her scalp.

Maybe it was time to let go. Maybe it was time to let her heart feel something other than pain and guilt.

He pulled away, leaving her lips throbbing and tingling. Neither of them spoke for a few seconds, the hum of the heater the only sound in the truck.
Grant stared out the window at the snow falling more heavily on the windshield. “There’s something between us, Carol. Something I’ve never felt before with any woman and I know you feel it, too.”

Carol loosened her scarf, still frazzled from his kiss and her own chaotic emotions.

“I know we’ve only been on one date—“

“Three.” Carol corrected him, then blushed when she saw the triumphant look on his face.

“I know. I was just checking to see if you were counting our lunch dates. I feel like I already know so much about you and I still want to spend more time with you.”

Carol shook her head. “This is crazy. We hardly know each other.”

Grant looked at her. “That’s not true. I know you’re a morning person. I know you like cream and sugar in your coffee. I know you like to wear the color yellow. I know you don’t like to wear a lot of make-up. I know you obsess over tiny details at your job. I know you like to laugh. I know holiday music makes you crazy.”

Carol looked at him in shock until she couldn’t see him because of the tears in her eyes again. “Stop. Stop!”

Grant grabbed her hand. “I can’t, because I want to know more. I know you’ve been through something tragic and life changing. I understand that, but I have to know if I even have a chance with you.”

Carol wiped her tears. “Grant . . . .” She wanted to admit there was something between them. She’d felt it the first day he walked into her café all those months ago.

HITTING THE HIGH NOTES
A novel of women’s fiction
by Nan D. Arnold
FEBRUARY 2010 RELEASE
By Champagne Books

We all know Maggie Duncan. She’s the woman in the grocery isle who could be our next door neighbor; the one who made bad choices. Staring the big five oh in the face, she takes stock. Having married unwisely and eschewed children, she now finds herself widowed and unattached. She is gaining weight everywhere but where she could use some fat-in the heels of her feet.

Looking for a spark, she finds one in the form of a blue knit dress promising to remain wrinkle free no matter what. Maggie thinks that would make a good article for a travel magazine and gives the premise a real workout once she meets an AWOL opera star by chance in a convenience store.

Lorenzo Pazzazzi, an aging baritone nursing a bruised ego following bad reviews, poses as a tourist called “Stavros”. He sees instantly that Maggie is pedaling along life’s highway without amoré so he commences to romance her as only The Great Pazzazzi can. He invites her to his place for a glass of wine but his brother, in drag to foil paparazzi, shows up unexpectedly at the front door. Fearful Maggie may learn who he really is, Lorenzo shoos her out his back door. Trouble is, wine-befuddled Maggie forgets her purse-the one holding a favorite photo of her deceased mother. She rounds the building to collect her purse, and what’s left of her pride, but Stavros is no where to be found. Instead, Maggie is greeted by an inhospitable Amazon who gives her the bum’s rush. Miffed, Maggie decides to involve cops. Detective Bruce Herring enters the picture, and there’s an immediate attraction between him and Maggie.

Soon, Lorenzo’s shenanigans not only involve Bruce Herring; but also The Green Socks Gang, wacko pie-chucking environmentalists when the singer pretends to be a member of the group.

The Green Socks Gang is harmless unless you’re befouling the oceans, ripping out trees, or reneging on political promises germane to the environment. The worst punishment they administer is lemon meringue pie in the kisser. However, when the gang learns Lorenzo sometimes poses as a member, they’re displeased. They decide to kidnap this poseur to their cause and teach him a lesson about honesty.

Lorenzo, unaware he’s actually being stalked by the gang, pretends to Maggie he’s not really a member of the Green Socks Gang, but their potential kidnap victim targeted for ransom and he needs her help because he can’t involve the cops. He hopes this ploy will engender sympathy, thus speeding their way along to l’amour.

Maggie remembers Bruce Herring wore green socks when first they met, with black pants. The fashion faux pas was, he said, due to an affliction: color blindness. Perhaps, or is he, too, a Green Sockser? No, he’s really a cop, and only one of a disparate cast trying to lure bad boy baritone Lorenzo back to Italy before he garners any negative press.

Along the way, the attraction between Maggie and Bruce grows. Then she’s dragged into the fray between Lorenzo and The Green Socks Gang while trying to reclaim her purse and that precious photo.

Who teaches her to hit the high notes of life’s song, the sexy singer or the rock solid cop?

EXCERPTS AND MORE here or check out Champagne Books; when you see my photo, click where indicated and that will take readers straight to my website.

Tell us about your latest/upcoming release. What inspired it?
A widow relearns life is a song and you that gotta hit the high notes. What inspired it? Well, what inspired my writing at all was hubris. I was sitting in a doctor’s office and tiring of the ten year old copy of Field and Stream, when I noticed someone left an orphaned book, a romance. The nurse said I could take it. I did and read it. Then, dummy me, thought “I could write something like this.” Oh, yeah? Boy, did I have a LOT to learn. Back to HITTING THE HIGH NOTES; think Carl Hiaasen turns into a woman on the cusp of menopause. It’s zany and fun with some dark undertones.

Did you always want to become a writer?
Never gave it a thought until the chance encounter in the doctor’s office. Wait. That’s not entirely true. I did give short stories a whirl but despite a few kind encouraging rejections, that never went anywhere and I went on to other things.

What is the most – and the least – interesting fact about writing?
The most interesting fact is that somebody you feel writes stronger than you doesn’t get published; the least interesting is it is a hard job. Time consuming and draining.

How did you celebrate your first release?

I opened a Coke (after I got up off the floor from shock)

What was it like to see your book in a bookstore/internet? Do you have a special ritual for celebrating a book release?

Well, ask me in February 2010 and I’ll let you know (grin).

Do you prefer stand alone books or series?

I like both, obviously since HITTING THE HIGH NOTES is followed by a sequel: PESTO PACKIN’ MAMA.

If you could change places with one character from your books, who would it be and why?

I’d be Lorenzo Pazzazzi, the opera star who usually gets everything he wants. Wouldn’t that be grand?

The holidays are here. What favorite traditions do you do during this time of year (tree hunting, cookie baking, etc)?

Well, I have a good ear for music but my voice certainly doesn’t warrant caroling; we hunt for a tree – in the attic- and trim that Christmas Eve. I’m a fair cook but miserable baker, so I buy store bought treats or even more fun, I buy from local bake sales.

If you could go back in time, which one would it be and why?

I would stay right where I am. I have indoor plumbing, running water; electric heat (or gas) and air conditioning–not for me are the days of old when people bathed once a week after lugging water from a nearby stream or even from the old kitchen pump. Oh, sure, if I were of noble or genteel birth and had someone do all that for me, okay. What are the chances my forbearers were in that class? And you still have the problem of air conditioning in the summer. I spent summers with my grandmother in east Texas. Read: broiling summers. She didn’t believe in A/C. We had fans. Try that a few times.

You got to meet any mythical creature/person who would you choose to meet and why?
I guess I’d want to meet Hermes (a.ka. Mercury to the Romans). What’s the first thing you think of when you here Hermes: expensive silk scarves and watches. But the real Hermes was busy; he could act as messenger of the gods, saw over thieves and travelers, too, and was very cunning). He also had a handy dandy wand with which he could confer sleep; kinda the model for our Sand Man myths I guess. I’d ask Herm (or Merc) Hey, fella, could you hit me with that wand a few times on those nights I’m fretting over revisions; copyedits; plots and character arcs?

Where can readers find you on the web?

My Website | Newsletter Group

What is coming in 2010 that you want to tease the reader on?

Pesto Packin’ Mama. As I mentioned, it’s a sequel to HITTING THE HIGH NOTES and ties up all lose ends with a happily-ever-ending. Oh, and there’s a showdown between Maggie and a sociopathic loan shark (hence the title) and kid-adverse Maggie has a change of heart (after lots and lots of ups and downs) when Bruce’s seventy-year-old father’s lovechild is forced on him. Lorenzo returns briefly, very briefly–per Bruce’s preference.

Devon Falls: Sticky Magic

Book 1 in series

Author: Raine Delight

Publisher: Aspen Mountain Press

Paranormal Erotic Romance Holiday
A chance meeting at a sweet shop…Can it be love?

When a stranger stops in at her shop, Jenna is surprised by the immediate attraction. Apparently, Marc is too because he wants to get to know Jenna. A whole lot better and won’t take no for an answer.

Excerpt:
The wind lightly swirled the snow around the people walking along the sidewalk. Kids having snowball fights in the local park, shouts of laughter as one hit an unsuspecting person. Jenna saw all this through a slight haze as they walked to the Dew Drop Café. All she thought was that Marc was her dream come true, and how she could get him into bed.

All of a sudden, Marc grabbed her as a car skidded to a stop. She saw it was inches from where she was walking. Shaking and trembling she felt his arms around her. As her trembling eased his scent reminded her of the wild untamed yet equally primitive African jungle. It stole into her senses so that she was on a whirly gig ride at the carnival and she definitely didn’t want to get off! Marc rested his chin on the top of her head and sighed . He leaned down, tipped her chin up and slowly slid one finger along side her pouty lower lip. Leaning down, he replaced his finger with his tongue and slowly slithered across her lips until she parted them.

Jenna didn’t know what happened but the next thing she knew, she was pressed up against him wrapping her arms around his neck, sliding her fingers in his hair as the kiss became deeper, more primitive. Moaning softly , he slipped his hands to her waist. He softly broke off the kiss with a groan and his breath came out his mouth like a steam locomotive starting as he rested his forehead against her own..

“My god, mia Cara, you are intoxicating to me!” Marc said.

Blushing, Jenna made a show of wiping something off her jeans to still the trembling in her hands. Then she felt his fingers caress her face in a loving gesture and she unconsciously leaned into him before she could stop herself.

Final Day of my Halloween Contest wek and we are talking Haunted Places. It wouldn’t be Halloween without talking spooky places where ghosts scare unsuspecting people.

Some of America’s Most Haunted Places are as follows:

Bell Witch Cave (located in Adams, Tennessee)
There is no greater ghost story in the history of American than that of the Bell Witch of Tennessee. It would require an entirely separate book to chronicle the strange haunting that occurred in Robertson County between 1817 and 1821 (and I have written one — see my book Season of the Witch for the complete account) but in short, the family of a local farmer named John Bell was plagued by a mysterious and violent spirit for nearly four years. The haunting involved spectral creatures, disembodied voices, unbelievable violence and even resulted in the death of John Bell — all at the hands of the infamous Bell Witch.

*****
Lincoln Theater (located in Decauter, Illinois)
The Lincoln Theater, located on North Main Street in downtown Decatur, is one of only two of the city’s grand theaters that remain standing today. It opened in 1916 with a large seating capacity and a sprawling stage. It was a labyrinth, and remains so today, with its mezzanine, high balcony, basements and sub-cellars. The theater holds many secrets, and according to some, many ghosts.

*********
Waverly Sanatorium (Lousiville, Kentucky)
One of the legends told of Waverly Hills involves a man in a white coat who has been seen walking in the kitchen and the smell of cooking food that sometimes wafts through the room. During their initial visit, they found the kitchen was a disaster, a ruin of broken windows, fallen plaster, broken tables and chairs and puddles of water and debris that resulted from a leaking roof. The cafeteria had not fared much better. It was also in ruins and the team quickly retreated. Before they could do so though, several of them reported the sounds of footsteps, a door swinging shut and the smell of fresh baked bread in the air. A quick search revealed that no one else was in the building and there was certainly no one cooking anything in the kitchen. They could come up with no logical explanation for what had occurred.
********
Alcatraz (San Franciso, California)
Alcatraz, which earned the nickname of the “Rock”, was the ultimate American prison. Bloodletters and badmen and assorted public enemies like Al Capone, Alvin Karpis and Machine-Gun Kelly and others, called this place the end of the line. For 29 years, the damp, fogged-in prison kept the country’s most notorious criminals put away from the rest of the world. The heavy mists, cold wind and water and the foghorns of the bay made Alcatraz the loneliest of the prisons.
********
Gettysburg Battlefield (Southern Pennsylvania)
Most Civil War enthusiasts would say the battle which was fought near the small Pennsylvania town in 1863 was the greatest battle of the war…. or at the very least, a turning point which led to the fall of the Confederacy. For ghost hunters, the mere mention of Gettysburg conjures up images of haunted buildings, strange battlefield encounters and restless ghosts.

Have you always wanted to write? Was it early in life or later that the “bug” bit you?

SS: Writing for me is second nature. I’ve always told stories to friends and family but it wasn’t until my teen years that I found writing to be a release for me from stress, upset, sadness and so on.

Tell us about your latest/upcoming release? Is it a series? If so, please tell us a little about the series itself.

SS: Surviving the Darkness is the 8th book in my Darkness series. Below is a blurb from the book.

The Darkness series is a tale of good and evil vampires fighting for control over the city of Jacob’s Cove. In book one, evil vampire Chaos tries to resurrect the king of vampires, Avadar, and with him, blot out the sun. With the sunlight gone, all the humans are at risk. Trinity Ford, soon to be queen of vampires, makes it her mission to protect the innocent, despite being a vampire herself. Scorned by her lover, Basil, she works alone, until Basil worms his way back into her heart. Each book takes place right after here the previous left off with new heroes and heroines joining Trinity and Basil on their quest to bring back the sun.

When death is on your trail, the only thing you can do is run.

Heading home to Jacob’s Cove after her abductor is released from jail, concert pianist, Deborah Carmichael just wants to find some peace. What she finds is a town run by monsters, and a kind night club owner willing to help her get her self-confidence back. Problem is, he’s a shape shifter and his bar is frequented by demons.

Owner of the Demon’s Lair, Zachary Adams has had to deal with all sorts of evil. Hearing about Deborah’s horrifying ordeal, breaks his heart and he is determined to help her overcome it as best he can. But as the two grow closer, someone is lurking in the shadows. When Deborah is abducted again, Zach is willing to do anything to get her back.

Will he be able to save her before it’s too late?

Excerpt:

Her wrists and ankles were tied to the four posts on her bed. Her body quivered, her teeth chattered. She’d tried tugging them free but the ropes had only scorched her skin. The cloth in her mouth was wet with saliva and the tape over her lips was beginning to irritate her skin. Dear God, wouldn’t someone save her?

“There we go. That duty’s done. You have a lovely washroom. Very clean and nicely decorated. But that’s no surprise. You have excellent taste. Now, let’s get you out of those clothes.”

She whimpered and when he lifted the large steel scissors she felt her blood drain. They glinted in the overhead light as he climbed onto the bed and she began to cry.

“Now now, this doesn’t have to be unpleasant.” Sliding the blade under her pant leg, he began to cut along the seam.

The tears drenched her face.

“Brown isn’t your color. I think I’ve told you that before. You should wear yellows and reds. You have the complexion for those colors. Brown makes you looked washed out.”

She cringed when the blade slid along her other leg and when he angled the blade over her crotch and sliced the fabric up her belly, her whimpers turned to sobs.

“Now now, no need for hysterics.”

Her body shook as he slid the blade along her blouse, tearing open the fabric and when he reached her bra, slipped the blade beneath the silk. It clipped the inside of her breast, scorching the flesh.

“Oops, sorry about that.”

She sucked in a breath when he leaned down and to her horror, his tongue slid out to lap up the blood.

“You’re very tasty. I can’t wait to have more.”

She began to sob even harder, her body shaking with it.

“Stop crying!” He demanded, holding the scissors to her chin. But she just couldn’t stop the tears or the way her body shook with them. “I said stop crying.”

She yelped when the blade came down between her breasts.

“Stop crying or I’ll give you a reason to cry.”

She screamed through the cloth as the blade sliced into her chest.

To purchase a copy of Surviving the Darkness go to Breathless Press www.breathlesspress.com

Where can readers find you on the web?

SS: Readers can find me on my website at www.shielasbooks.ca as well as on Twitter http://twitter.com/ShielaSue and facebook http://www.facebook.com/shiela.stewart?ref=profile#/shiela.stewart?ref=name and on my publishers website at www.breathlesspress.com

Describe a typical day for you.

SS: You want me to bore the readers? LOL

A typical day for me is waking at 7:00 when my hubby’s alarm clock goes off. I then make sure my children are up and ready for school which is always a task. My youngest daughter, 14, is not a morning person. LOL Once the kids are off to school and the hubby is at work, I clean up the mess they all left behind, then grab a glass of iced tea and sit down to check emails and do my marketing work. I’m also the marketing Director for Breathless Press. When I’m finished all that, which is usually near lunch, I’ll sit down to write, if inspiration strikes.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you. My life is definitely not exciting but I like it.

Does your family read your books? Do they like/dislike them?

SS: My sisters/sister in-law and mother in-law read my books. As do my friends. The first time they read one of my books they were shocked. One, that I wrote about sex, and two, that I was good. LOL My husband has read practically everything I have ever written and he gives me tips on how to make it better or what needs changing.

Most authors are readers as well. Is this the case with you and if so, who are some of your favorite authors to enjoy?

SS: Oh yes, I love to read. My favorite author by far is Nora Roberts and her pseudonym J.D. Robb. I also love reading J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood. But aside from reading romance and vampire novels I love reading fiction as well such as true stories about split personalities, massacres, and personal biographies. Right now I’m deep in the novel, Elizabeth, the story of Queen Elizabeth the 1st.

Halloween is here and I hear you are the premier person to go to when decorating a house for Halloween. Can you tell us all about your decorating tips, desires and any other good stuff you like to do on the holiday?

SS: Oh I am definitely THE person to go to when it comes to decorating your house for Halloween. I’m asked by friends and family in September already if I plan on decorating for Halloween. LOL

I like to make my house spooky and gory. I tend to do more gore on the inside and not as much outside because I don’t want to scare the little ones. Outside I have a huge air-blown spider that has lit up eyes and his head moves from side to side as well as an air-blown Dracula that comes out of his coffin. I hang plastic homemade ghosts from my trees and along the path to my door I have lit up skeleton heads. I play spooky music from my balcony so anyone entering can hear it.

Inside, I go nuts. LOL. There isn’t a spot in my house that doesn’t have cobwebs. I have battery operated ghosts flying about, creepy ghouls laughing as you pass them by and a mechanical murderer to great you as you stop for snacks. My entire house is lit with candles only to enhance the spookiness. I have severed hands, feet, arms hanging from the ceiling as well on tables and squishy eyeballs that glow in the dark and stare back at you. There are plenty of skeletons in my house to scare you and some may even jump out at you.

I try to host a costume Halloween party every year and my friends and family never disappoint me with their costumes.

As you can see, I love Halloween.

You won a chance to spend a day with any character/author/celebrity of your choice. What would you do and who would you pick?

SS: Hmmmm…tough one because I have three.

King Henry the 8th would be one. I’m fascinated with the Tudor’s and would love to talk with him first hand and see if he is anything like he’s described.

Next would be his daughter, Queen Elizabeth the 1st. She was such a determined and strong independent woman.

And the third would be Marilyn Monroe. I would love to go back in time to the day she died and find out the truth. Her death has always fascinated me. I have doubts that she committed suicide.

Anything coming from you in the future we should mark down?

SS: Keep an eye out for my Demon series. This is a story I am very fond of. Not to say I’m not fond of all of my other books, I am, but the Demon series is one of those stories that stick with you long after it’s been created.

The series is a look into three generations of demons who are direct descendants of Satan. In the first one, Missy Green is running from an abusive relationship only to fall into the arms of a demon. Little does she know she is a demon as well and Satan wants to claim her soul.

For Fun: If you were a superherione, what would your name be and would you wear tights and a cape?

SS: I hated tights when I was a child. I would never wear them now. No, my outfit would consist of black leather pants, bustier and knee high black boots. No cape. It’s too constricting. LOL

My name? Dark Angel.

Thank you Raine for having me on your blog. I LOVED the questions!
