Ok the twilight craziness has begun. I heard this morning that all movie theaters in my area from midnight on are sold out. Seriously…SOLD OUT. Now I love a good movie but who wants to wait in line to buy tickets for a midnight showing. Not me…I am sorry I like sleep over watching a moody teenage girl get all depressed. *shrugs* I saw the first movie and wondered why they made it. To me, Bella was annoying and Edward was waaaayyyyy to weird. I personally found it difficult to watch so I don’t think I will watch New Moon when it comes out in DVD next year. But I do know some people who have had Twililght parties and watched the movie again and read the books.

Now that the time is here, it seems every tween and adult woman under age of 100 are getting into this craziness. I just don’t see the appeal IMHO. Vampires who sparkle?! WTF? Sorry that does not resonate with me at all as a reader and an author. I give Ms. Meyer props because she created a series that is very popular right now and picking up where Harry Potter craze left off but let’s be real. If this happened in real life (i.e.-today), I would be calling police for a stalker alert becasue there is no way I am allowing my daughter to be stalked by a 100 year old vampire, no matter if he looks pretty in sunlight. *Shakes head*

Then you got the “Team Edward” or “Team Jake” competition going on between Twilighters. Now really, is there more than one person in this movie? I have read the books and frankly thought books 1-3 were great but the 4th one felt rushed but that is MO only. I am sure there are others who agree/disagree with me on that. I personally enjoyed Alice overall. She was different yet interesting to me. *smiles*

I know I am probably getting vilified in the worst forms right now for not picking Edward or Jake but then again, I think Robert Patterson is not that hawt either. *shrugs* I can’t help it. The wole thing seems nuts to me but then again I seem to be in a minority on this subject.

Ok these are my two cents on the whole Twilight craziness. What say you? Any team you are on? Thoughts? Comments?

I watched the first movie but only because I kept hearing about and wanted to see what the buzz was about. Like you Raine, I wasn’t impressed either.
I am not sure what all of the names are so forgive me. The girl just seemed to be so moody and the kept taking and pushing her away a lot. If I had been her, I would have kicked his arse to the curb a long time ago.
Will I go see this movie, probably not. I can’t see spending that kind of money for a movie that I will probably not like.
I think I must be too old to get into or something. I just like them older and more mature I guess. lol

I saw the movie and then read the series. Like most women, it took me about two days to read the entire series and I have to say that I absolutely love it.
The whole concept of love triumphing over all makes the romantic us sit up and say YEAH!!!
I am not on any teams. My grandma, mom, and I are planning on going out to see it a week after it shows. We are hoping to avoid the immediate craze but after that I can see us watching it over and over again.
Grandma (who is 79) is the biggest fan and absolutely loves Edward. Mom is more into Jake.
If I could I would pick both.

I am with you Raine and Katie..I just think it’s not my cup of tea..I must be in that age group too where I felt it was a teen book and not mature enough for me. I now have it confirmed I am not nuts after all. thanks ladies..I thought I was the only one who wasn’t google eyed and swaying with emotions over the whole deal. ha susan L.

    Hi Katie, Susan and Candy,

I see us three are in a minority Susan and Katie since we could take it or leave it. :)

I am sorry but I just don’t see the appeal of a 100 year old vampire stallking (well he is stalking her for gods sake) a 17yr. old. *shudder* I kept hearing “CRIME” in my head. LOL

Candy- I am not knocking those who love this series in books and movies and more power to y’all. I hope you enjoy the movie. :)

Katie- I am with you. If I was Bella, I would have kicked his arse to the artic circle because as far as I am concerned any guy that wishy washy needs it. *shrus* But that is just me. :) And I agree- I need the vamps. to be hot and sexy for an adult. Unfortunatly I couldn’t get intot he whole pure love romance because all I kept hearing in my head was “Stalker”. LOL

Does this mean I am crazy? LOL

    Thanks for coming guys.

Hi all, I sub at local high schools, and I pose the question to the girls who are hot for this series, “Would you be attracted to a 90-year old man?” “How about an 80-something guy like Hugh Hefner?” They all groan and say “Gross!” Then I ask them why Edward is different…they say he’s so hot! I ask them what on earth he and Bella would talk about? Do they have anything in common, other than he likes to smell her? Or watch her sleep? Or follow her around? All of which is truly creepy…they get confused then. Their idea of romance is so simplistic, that they never actually think it through to what it would be like for them, when staring at each other with longing gets boring. So no, I’m not on either team as a cheerleader. I’m hoping my own 16-year old daughter will avoid guys this moody and obsessed, or I’ll have to get her older brothers to kick his ass! Personally, I think Stephanie Meyers writes like the Bronte sisters did…she writes what she THINKS “love” SHOULD be like, not what actual people are like. So it’s not just fiction, it’s fantasy.
