Evil Reflection by Larion Wills

What do you love about being an author?
The creating, the putting all the pieces together to make a story. Either that or I’m just possessed. Once a story starts in my head, I can’t exorcise it until it’s on paper.

Is there anything you dislike?
I have to say promoting. Editing doesn’t bother me the way it does many. I welcome a fresh, different look at my puzzle that alerts me to pieces I’ve missed and, of course, those grammar and punctuation lapses. Editing puts on the polish, but promoting just takes time away from writing and is something I have to make myself do.

How do you balance your personal and writing time?
I don’t actually. When I’m on and the words are flowing pretty much everything that isn’t a necessity goes on hold. I have to be reminded of things like it’s dinner time and set timers for myself to remember to take the load of clothes out of the washer and put them in the dryer. And watering. Boy have I watered the driveway a lot of times. I do work in the living room either with pen and paper or a laptop to at least give the illusion of keeping my husband company.

Do you tend to base your characters on real people or are they totally from your imagination?
My characters are imagination, but I do give them little things from real life for filler. As an example one of my characters tells of her grandmother telling her that standing to eat in a hurry gave you ulcers. I think those little bits make the characters seem more real if you see them doing real everyday things.

If you could meet any mythical being, who would it be and why?
Oh, a witch. I’d love to be able to wiggle my nose and get the housework done.

If we looked on your bookshelves, what would we see? Any favorite authors there?
You’d see books, lots of books with lots of favorite authors. If I read a book and like it, I keep it (and reread many of them, like returning to an old friend) and look for more by that author. If I liked them once, I’m fairly well guaranteed I’ll like their next one. I don’t have them alphabetized, but they are arranged by author. The ones I haven’t read yet aren’t in the shelves. They’re stacked in various places waiting for free time or when I put one of mine to bed and go on a reading binge. I don’t have my ebooks as well organized, but some day….

You get to meet a paranormal Creature of your choice with no safeguards, what would you choose and why?
Without safeguards? Whoo, don’t know about that. A vampire would be interesting to meet, but I’d want a cross on my neck. I mean what would be the fun in meeting them if you couldn’t live to tell about it? Maybe a fairy, one of those sweet little ones you could watch like you do hummingbirds. ummm, does that make me a coward? Okay, a ghost. Not one of those Hollywood ones that make you skin melt or various other horrors, but a lost soul I could help find the way to go on.

What do you got coming in 2010? Any upcoming release(s) you want to shout out about for the last part of 2009?
I have three slated for 2010: two western romances, soft and sweet sex, and a contemporary story a bit spicier. A Gallows Waited and Twisted Wind will be the 3rd and 4th of a western women series. It’s Still Tomorrow is a suspense with romance and witchery. As for shouting for what’s left of 2009 (can’t believe this year is almost over) , Hey, read my latest, Little Sam’s Angel. She was hell on wheels after being raised as a boy, but when she needed help to save her ranch, Gabriel turned out to be more than the angel he was named after. Oh, and don’t forget to read Evil Reflections, witches and Holloween, scary and sexy!

His breath touched her throat, and tingles rushed over her skin like a flash fire leaving a burning warmth over her body. Moisture caressed her skin when the tip of his tongue slid down her neck. One finger swept her auburn hair to the side, tucking it neatly behind her ear as his tongue changed to kisses, up her neck until his teeth tugged gently, sensually on the lobe of her ear. The tip of his tongue tickled, drawing a circle, dipped in her ear, and his breath, warm, oh so warm, touched her like a whisper.

Sara moaned, twisting her head, welcoming more. She moaned again when the tongue left her ear, when kisses traveled down her throat and settled into arousing little nibbles at her shoulder. Her fingers clawed into the sheets. Her back arched, offering more of her breast as his hand cupped the soft mound, and his thumb stroked across her nipple through the silken cloth of her nightgown. Sara twisted, wanting still more. His mouth, she wanted his mouth, teasing, suckling, arousing the hard pebble of her nipple the way it had her ear.

“Please,” she begged and then jerked, horrified, at what she heard come from her own lips.

Sara jerked awake, sweating and panting. She moaned again, covering her face in shame. What was wrong with her? Were the damned dreams going to haunt her the rest of her life? How could she be so aroused and wanting in a dream and so cold in the face of reality?
“Oh, God,” she groaned, and rolled from the bed to stagger to the bathroom. Leaning both hands on the vanity for support, she stared at herself in the mirror. “If this doesn’t stop, I’m going to go crazy.” A snort followed that declaration. “Maybe I already am.”

Her body was on fire, slow to cool or relax. She wanted more, more than she would allow the dream to give her. Much, much more than she could accept when it was offered by a flesh and blood, living dream of a man. Going cold whenever David touched her, she could not respond to him in body in even a fraction of what she did in a dream.

“What’s wrong with you?” she asked the flushed face in the mirror.

Her bleak expression with haunted, deep brown eyes stared back without an answer. Her hand went to the spot on her neck, where she had first felt his breath, and traveled to her collarbone where his tongue had stopped. A shudder shook her, and it was not from the cool October night. Desire, base, primeval desire swept through her. She fought not to touch and rub herself while she thought of where the dream would have gone had she not shaken herself awake. His hand would have eased the thin strap of her nightgown off her shoulder. His lips would have kissed the bared mount of breast cupped in his hand. She would have looked down into sapphire blue eyes with her fingers stroking through his dark, ebony hair. David, her David, with every tiny flaw of his face altered to perfection. Her fingers would have closed into fists in the waves of his raven hair when his lips closed over–

    Hi Larion,

Welcome to my blog. Thanks for being here.

Is there a genre you haven’t done yet but want to in the future?

    Raine D.

Hey Raine am I late? as to your question, no, I don’t think so. I did try erotic but decided if I had to force the language it just wasn’t for me. oh, wait, i did start a werewolf one that I haven’t finished. since shape shifting was new to me, not because is wasn’t going well, but something interfered. yeah, work. I just haven’t gotten back into it. editing, what a chore. it’s so much more fun just writing and not having to pay attention to all those rules. great disciple though and training to automatically not do that the next time around.
just want to add, thank you for having me. I’ve been off the loops and off the net for so long, I’m ashamed of myself and feel like I need to join all my groups over again. there are so many new names on all of them that I’m sure are people who have never heard of me. Is an introduction in order.
