Tell us about your latest book. What inspired it? Is this a series and if so, how many books are you planning? If not, do you plan to have any spin-off from secondary characters in the future?
Thank you Raine for spotlighting me today! My latest book is called Twice the Thrill: Matt, Ringside Series Book Two. What is my Ringside Series? Well it’s about Wrestlers, specifically the hot men of the Wrestling Entertainment Association. In the first book, The Finisher, we meet wrestling superstar Sage “The Finisher” Trinity and his personal assistant Presley Ford. In book two we center it around half of Twice the Thrill tag team, Matt Carlson, and physical therapist, Mila Vidal. Here’s an excerpt:
She’s evil!
Matt Carlson here and there is two things I live for; wrestling and women. Together with my brother Eric, we make Wrestling Entertainment Association’s top tag team. We love the ring, and we’re good at it. There ain’t no stunt we won’t do, well that won’t kill us. When it comes to the ladies, I don’t discriminate; I love them all! Ok not all. The exception to that is Mila Vidal; she’s stuck up and a goodie two shoes. No thank you! I like my women easy and willing. We were once close friends. I know, what the hell I was thinking, but hey we all make mistakes.
If working with her is bad enough, having to live with her will certainly bring things from our past that I don’t want to revisit. Then again, don’t they say that your past will catch up to you?
He’s disgusting pig!
Hi I am Mila Vidal, physical therapist for Wrestling Entertainment Association. A year of working with the WEA and I can land a job anywhere I want. You would think I’d be happy after landing such a great opportunity, but no. My work ethics are being tested, by none other than Matt Carlson; resident pig, and moron. I don’t know how I am going to make it a year without killing him, or at least giving him a permanent injury. You would agree with me if you met him.
You are probably thinking that I have a secret ‘thing’ for Matthew, but no it’s not like that between him and me. I have valid reasons to despise him. And I could never forgive him for what he’s done. Ever.
Discover what secrets Mila and Matt share in Twice the Thrill: Matt.
There’s a 3rd book in the works and I have ideas for a 4th and 5th ones. And the series is available from Red Rose Publishing.

What element of writing in your genre is hardest for you? Easiest?
The hardest is keeping me focus on one book LOL! When the muse strikes I drop whatever I am working on and start with whatever idea pops in my head. Now I have about ten books half way there and no idea what to tackle next LOL! The easiest I think for me is humor, because the funniest things happen to me. So I do use my personal funny moments in life in my books. You really can’t come up the odd/funny stuff that happens to me lol Ever had a homeless man hit on you? Yeah…good time-good times!

Do you have any pet peeves as a writer? As a reader?
Pet peeves as a writer? I have a long list here, but mainly it’ll have to be that it’s very difficult for me to follow workshops and things along those lines. Yes, I do believe that we all should work on our craft, but I don’t believe you should follow someone else’s format; create your own.
As a reader it drives me nuts when I am reading a book series, and the author contradicts their world rules from book to book. Obviously they don’t keep track of what they write, and isn’t it the editors job to make sure that sort of thing doesn’t happen??? I guess I ask for too much lol

If you could ask readers in your genre one question, what would it be and why?
What’s the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you? Followed by, Can I use that in one of my books? Lol

What do you think is most important in the relationship between the main characters?
I don’t think I’ve ever been asked this question. Which is good since you are making me think LOL! I guess it has to be how they relate to each other when sex is not involved. Sure we all love the steamy sex scenes, but I prefer their interaction. The setting how they fall in love, or hate each other’s guts. What lead them to where they are before the “opening credits” of the story? And being that I write Romantic Comedy, humor between the leads is huge in my book. They have to have funny moments, and be able to laugh with and at each other

How long does it take for you to create, write and submit to your editor a finished book?
It really depends. I don’t give myself deadlines, and all of that. I don’t even do timelines because I never stick to them. What I do it’s write down the lead characters profile and a bullet point of ideas that can be worked into the book. Not everything will work, and as much as we want to add something in a story, in the end it’s your characters that lead the story.

If one of your books was made into a movie, who do you think would capture your characters perfectly?
This one’s easy. For my book The Finisher, the character of Sage would be perfectly played by the WWE pro-wrestler Dave Batista since I used his stats to describe/create Sage. He’s so pretty!

Anything in the pipeline for 2009? Can we get a sneak look into upcoming projects?
Yes, I am working on my first fantasy. I’ve never written anything like it. The idea came to me one night years and years ago when I got home from partying with friends, drunk as a skunk lol I sat in front of my computer and there he was born. Although, I’ve been doing research for the book for years now, I’ve never really had the guts to actually write it; I know I’m such a chicken. But I think I’ve researched the topic now to death, so I am ready to take the plunge. Wish me luck I don’t suck!

For fun: If you could meet any character you want, who would it be & what would you do?
Hands down Matt Carlson from my book Twice the Thrill: Matt. I love all my characters; is just Matt has a special place in my heart. And what would we do? Go drinking of course! Find the nearest bar, start a tab, and BS all night. Maybe even go to a Jets or Yankees game. That could be a hell of a time too
