This helps me, believe it or not, when I write hard science fiction (under another name). In my dystopic future, people are always at war over livable space, so I use those examples for war tactics, command decisions, realistic responses, etc. The war itself may not be the focus, but it is very important to the storyline. There are many books out there about military operations, history and present (United States and other countries). This helps me, believe it or not, when I write hard science fiction (under another name). In my dystopic future, people are always at war over livable space, so I use those examples for war tactics, command decisions, realistic responses, etc.

The war itself may not be the focus, but it is very important to the storyline.
